about

An abbreviated sequel to Péchés d’âge moyen, this album represents one workweek of composing--five days, one piece a day. Each piece was composed between Monday, 14 March and Friday, 18 March 2022, coinciding with holidays (Pi Day, The Ides of March, and Saint Patrick's Day) or events, meteorological or otherwise.

These are very "lo-fi" recordings, recorded using a cell phone and the composer's Casio CDP-S100 keyboard. Listeners can hear the composer's breath on some tracks, as well as his dog, Murphy, faintly snoring in the background.

The album includes handwritten manuscripts of each of the five pieces, as well as videos of four of the five pieces (the composer was a bit under-the-weather when he composed "An Impressionist's Friday Afternoon" and never managed to record a video of it). JPEGs of the album artwork is also included, along with a bonus version of "Pi Day" recorded on a Baldwin Acrosonic spinet piano.
